July in The Pacific Northwest

We did tons of exploring and hiking and swimming in July.  It is not as warm here as it was back in Minnesota.  We went to a place called Deception Pass.  There is a lake called Cranberry Lake which is fresh water only a 100 yards or so from the salt water of the sound.  Pretty cool!

There was a log floating in the lake.  Dunn and I met a friend who had a paddle.  We had so much fun trying to balance on the log and paddle around

I built a sand castle on the beach.

I even went into the cold sound waters for a dip.  Buurrr!

We also went to another beach called Chuckanut.  This was my favorite beach so far.  The hike through the woods was fun.  My Grandma and Grandpa were here for a visit with their puppy Lexi.

Deer watching us on the trail.

Hiking down to the beach.

Family photo on the railroad tracks.

Rock with water wear.

Dead crab!

Wading in the sound looking for critters.

We found tons of baby crabs.

Dinner plate sized purple star fish....HUGE and rough feeling.  We tried to pull him off his rock so that we could hold him.  No luck!

Sea Star that was very soft and squishy.  This one was also dinner plate sized.

Finally we took Grandma and Grandpa to Pikes Place Market in Seattle.

Pikes Place Pig!

Balloon Man.

School started here September 1st.  I love my new teacher Mrs. Mitchell.  I have made lots of new friends.  We have been doing so much fun stuff and I love living on the Sound.    I almost forgot...Here is one last picture of the cars going into the belly of the ferry that I promised.

Feeling Like Home

We have been in our new house for a whole month now.  I think it is time to just start calling it "home" now.  Instead of "new home".  I have made lots of new friends in my neighborhood .  And I am looking forward to school starting in a couple of weeks.

Here are some pictures from the last month.

I am really enjoying all the fun things to do here.  My mom is finishing up the decorating of my room and I will take some pictures of that when it is done.

Made it to Mukilteo

After our visit at Grandmas and Grandpas house in Taos we visited my cousins in Colorado Springs again.  My daddy flew in to Denver and we were so excited to see him.  I am so happy that my family is all back together again.  After we picked daddy up from the airport we hit the dusty trail again.  We drove for three days through Colorado, Idaho, Utah, Oregon and Washington.  I have visit a bunch of different states on this trip.  I have also watched every video we own.  It has been a long trip but it has also been lots of fun.

Now we are staying at a hotel for 6 more days until we can move into our new house.  I got to drive through my new neighborhood and there were lots of kids out playing.  I also got to see my new school.  We have been going to the beach every day to play and hunt for shells.  I got to see a whale surface and spout and we also took the ferry across to Whidbey Island.  Today we made necklaces from all the shells we found.

I miss home quite a bit and wish I could see my friends too.  Thank you Mrs. Fogelberg for your wonderful message.  It made me feel so good!

Here are a few more pictures from my trip:

We went to a petting zoo with cousins Addie, Elliana & Brooke.
This is a baby cow stepping on my foot

Baby pig!  I wanted to take him home.

Chanting "we want ice cream" on the train!
Thank you Auntie Michelle for the train ride and the ice cream :)

We watched people crabbing for Dungeness Crabs and learned how to do it.

Highlights from the dusty trail

Here are some pictures from my trip so far.

We found a giant moth at the lake.

He had the most amazing furry body and feathery antennae.

Almost as big as my face!

Surprise Uncle Pauly!

Hooking live minnows for the first time as bait for fishing.

Wonderscope's Space Room with my friend Ficher.

Building a fire pit with Grandma Suzette.

Giant Marshmallow Smores!

We went to the Georgia O'Keeffe and New Mexico Art Museums
in Santa Fe with Grandma & Grandpa.

Holding a hummingbird!!!  It bumped it's head on my Grandma's window
so we each got to hold him until he could fly away.

There are so many humming birds here.  You can stand right next to them while they eat from the feeder.  I couldn't feel this hummingbird in my hand it was so light.
